At Arch View we pride ourselves in the fact that we are a small breeder. Our dogs live in our home and are our family members; they spend no time in cages or kennels. Also, since we only have one litter at a time we are able to give each and every puppy the attention they deserve. Giving puppies’ individualized attention and other social and life experiences create well socialized puppies; which make them excellent family companions.
Why Australian Labradoodle?
When considering a labradoodle it is important to do your homework. There are different types of labradoodles. You can buy a labradoodle that is a simple cross between a lab and poodle for less money than an Australian Labradoodle. But, be careful if you are considering a lab poodle cross. Many lab x poodle mixes still shed (which is problematic especially for allergy suffers). They also have size restrictions: many doodles are large in size similar to that of a standard poodle. Also, many lab poodle mixes look very poodle like in appearance. Australian Labradoodles have been carefully bred for temperament, appearance, coat quality (non-shedding), and size. There is much more consistency with Australian Labradoodles than lab poodle mixes. If you are making an investment for a family companion that will be around for 15 yrs., why not get the best?
Male or Female
I often get asked by families if they should reserve a male or female puppy. Some people argue that female puppies are more nurturing and more motherly, thus making them better family companions. Australian Labradoodles do not follow the gender norms of most canines. The males and females are spayed and neutered around 5 weeks; which make them gender neutral compared to many other dog breeds. The early spay and neuter also allows the puppies to recover more quickly from surgery. When considering a puppy, I think it is more important to make temperament the most important factor. I believe that if a family gets a dog with a temperament that fits their lifestyle regardless of gender, color, and even size, they will find a “perfect match.”
Puppies!
We have exciting news! Taylor will be expecting miniature puppies in December, just in time for Christmas. We will offer Christmas packages with the puppies in her upcoming litter so you can surprise your loved ones with an extra special package under the tree. Puppies will be able to meet their forever families starting on December 26. Puppies from this litter will be a great way to add a puppy to your family without adding stress (to you and your puppy) during the busy holiday season. Reserve an Arch View Christmas puppy today!
